An Intro to Giallo genre

Giallo:in Italian, literally means “yellow”. The term refers to a series of pulp paperbacks which were first published by the Mondadori publishing house back in 1929. These books came in yellow covers. Over the years, the word has come to mean something quite significant to horror movie lovers the world over. Giallo films are horror-thriller films that are bloody, gory, sexy and a bit exploitative.
The film genre that emerged from these novels in the 1960s began as literal adaptations of the books, but soon began taking advantage of modern cinematic techniques to create a unique genre. Films known abroad as "gialli" are called thrilling or simply "thriller" in Italy, the first term usually referring to Italian 1970s classics by directors like Dario Argento or Mario Bava

Starsign Design

Dave Starsign Has been influenced by visual art and film for as long as he can remember. It all started with the design and animation he used to watch on Sesame Street growing up in the 1970s. In elementary school, he paid close attention to the layout in the school textbooks, and the design of cereal boxes, toy packaging and magazines. It inspired him to draw, starting out by recreating the illustrations in his childhood books and the cartoon characters on television. He then became addicted to drawing and it became his favorite hobby. When he began to buy music, his interest in graphic design flourished once hediscovered the unique and striking record cover art by designers like Peter Saville, Vaughan Oliver and Reid Miles. As he grew older, he became intrigued by poster designs from the 1960s and mid 1970s. he was also a fan of film title sequences, specifically Maurice Binder's titles for the James Bond films, Pablo Ferro's sequences for "The Thomas Crown Affair" and "Dr. Strangelove" and Kyle Cooper's work for the movie "Seven".

The Gross Uncle-Grant Gillard

Born and raised in Ohio, Grant ventured towards the Westest of Coasts after graduating from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2005. His search for new places and publications to let his imagination run "wylde" is never-ending and exhilarating. His work has appeared in the SF Weekly, various boutiques, galleries, and street corners all around San Francisco. El Camino Renders

LA PURIFICADORA BOUTIQUE HOTEL PUEBLA, MEXICO

From the creative mind of Carlos Couturier Owner of some great hotels like habita in Mexico city as well el Deseo in Playa del Carmen and Azucarin the port city of Veracruz ,comes his new project called La Purificadora ,a former 19th-century water-purifying centre next to the Iglesia de San Francisco in the colonial city of Puebla.
This the Uber Cool hotel in this beautyful city, when i grew up in Mexico city as a teenager i have very fond memories of puebla and it's magnificent cuisine.
the city now has become a visiting point for everyone to deligth their senses and i been better to stay at i very elegant and minimalist design hotel.

From Victor Legorreta:black and white are the only colours, bringing out the subtleties of the materials used – stone from the original building, old wood, onyx and custom floor tile, as well as found materials such as bottles and glass fragments, which are also integrated in the hotel’s graphic design. But this minimalism shouldn’t be confused with lack of luxury: a roof terrace and 30-metre pool provide ample recreational opportunity, and the 26 guestrooms offer spectacular views of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A Software company called FlyTunes has developed the first internet radio for the Iphone or Ipod touch.
This start up company has developed a digital radio service so you can listen on the Ipod touch and the Iphone si here you have and alternative to Satellite Radio.
The registration is only by invite it takes about 24hrs to received it.

Rubberized School Desks

Sometimes i really would like to go back to school and more so if i had this desk and chair to listen to Mrs Veronica, my english teacher , my friend she was a beautyfull woman , I still remember her after 30 years or so.
Well, been design freak that i am i wanted to show you this fine piece of design created by Thomas Brown.
As you can see in the images. All the desks have and indivual colours, Alongside the contour of the design of the desk to lighten the mood . At the present time the unimaginative classrooms make the environment dull !!!.
Wit the these attractive desks , the students will create a positive flow in the classroom.

Lalo Schiffrin Bio via wikipedia

Hello again im posting a bio of Lalo Schiffrin from Wikipedia so you can know more about this very prolific composer:
He was born In Argentina Buenos Aires of Jewish heritage,His father, Luis Schifrin, led the second violin section of the orchestra at the Teatro Colón for three decades. At the age of six, Schifrin began a six-year course of study on piano with Enrique Barenboim,the father of the pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim. At age 16, Schifrin began studying piano with the Russian expatriate Andreas Karalis, former head of the Kiev Conservatory, and harmony with Argentine composer Juan-Carlos Paz. During this time, Schifrin also became interested in jazz.

Career

After returning home to Argentina, Schifrin formed a jazz orchestra, a 16-piece band that became part of a popular weekly variety show on Buenos Aires TV. Schifrin also began accepting other film, television and radio assignments. In 1956, Schifrin met Dizzy Gillespie and offered to write an extended work for Gillespie's big band. Schifrin completed the work, Gillespiana, in 1958. Later that year Schifrin began working as an arranger for Xavier Cugat's popular dance orchestra.

While in New York in 1960, Schifrin again met Gillespie, who had by this time disbanded his big band for financial reasons. Gillespie invited Schifrin to fill the vacant piano chair in his quintet. Schifrin immediately accepted and moved to New York City. In 1963, MGM, which had Schifrin under contract, offered the composer his first Hollywood film assignment with the African adventure, Rhino!. Schifrin moved to Hollywood late that year.

thoughts about why we chose a lot of green

Well i don't want to bored you to much with these,but i wanted to tell you why you will see a lot of green in this blog .

• First, it happens to be my favorite color.
  
• Second, that is the color of my eyes (not to green,some green )
• Third, the color of nature.
• fourth, the color of hope ( As in, A hope we stop killing each other , I hope for peace in the world.I hope you like this blog and the content hahaha!!!!

• Sixth . for the soles of my Nike air Moire.
• Grass green is the most restful color.
• Green symbolizes self-respect and well being.
• It also means learning, growth and harmony.

Update on music

Hi Everyone i like to share this thougths with all of you who are starting to visit us.
At Statesoundsmixlab we are going to cut down on the number of cd's a day maybe we will be post anywhere beetweb 1 and 3 cd's a day the reason for this there is just so much music out there and quite frankly a lot of crap .
